Florence: sites #1

David von MichelangeloAlthough there is nothing else to see in the Accademia, you must at least see the David by Michelangelo there.  There are copies across the river and in front of the Palazzo Vecchio, but they can't compare to the real thing.  The Duomo is gorgeous on the outside, right smack in the middle of the city, but not so grand in the interior.  The Baptistry across the way has the Ghiberti's bronze doors, which reflect Bible stories in 3D.  Inside is an amazing mosaic ceiling that depicts the Judgement Day.
